Naperville police continue to investigate an incident that placed Hill Middle School on soft lockdown last week and sent a student to the hospital after he was stabbed with scissors.

An early-morning kitchen fire Monday left an east Naperville house uninhabitable, but no one was injured in the incident. A fire alarm alerted city dispatchers to the blaze in the 1800 block of Sunrise Court at 6:33 a.m. Residents were alerted to the fire by smoke detectors in the home.
